10 Restaurants We Would Put on Your Abuja Dining List
Reina
Head Concierge, Novaren Lifestyle
A Novaren guide to places worth knowing when the occasion calls for more than just dinner.
Abuja doesn't have a shortage of places to eat.
If anything, the harder part is knowing where to go for what.
The restaurant you'd choose for a quiet dinner isn't necessarily where you'd take a group of friends. The place that works for a business dinner may not be where you'd celebrate a birthday. And sometimes, you're simply looking for somewhere that feels considered — good food, the right atmosphere, convenient location and an experience that makes sense for the occasion.
That's where curation comes in.
At Novaren, we're interested in more than collecting names of restaurants. We're interested in understanding what each place offers, who it works for and when we'd consider putting it in front of a client.
So, we've been paying closer attention to Abuja's dining scene.
Not a ranking and not a definitive list of “the best” restaurants in the city.
Just eight places we'd keep on our radar.
1. Spices by VII
Wuse II | Asian & Afro-fusion
Spices by VII is one of the newer additions to Abuja's dining scene, bringing Asian-inspired flavours together with Nigerian influences.
What makes it particularly interesting is that the experience isn't confined to one dining room. The restaurant has multiple spaces, including a private VIP section and an upstairs rooftop lounge, giving it some flexibility depending on the kind of occasion you're planning.
The menu follows the same idea of bringing different influences together, with dishes that reinterpret familiar Nigerian flavours alongside Asian-inspired options.
Why we'd put it on the list:
There's room here for different kinds of plans — from a casual meal to a group dinner, birthday, intimate gathering or small private event.
We'd consider it for:
Group dining • Celebrations • Dates • Private gatherings
Novaren thought:
Sometimes the appeal isn't just what's on the plate. It's having enough of the right spaces to make the occasion your own.
2. Liquid Hub
Central Business District | Italian, Mediterranean & Wine Bar
Liquid Hub sits within The Diplomatic Village on Olusegun Obasanjo Way and offers a dining experience that can move comfortably between daytime and evening.
Its current listings describe Italian and Mediterranean influences alongside a wine-bar setting, with breakfast, lunch, brunch, dinner and drinks all part of its offering. It also has outdoor seating and private-dining options.
What stands out from the available guest feedback is the emphasis on atmosphere and service, with reviewers describing it as a place suited to dinners, meetings, birthdays and getting together with friends.
Why we'd put it on the list:
It's the sort of place that can adapt to the plan rather than forcing the plan to adapt to it.
We'd consider it for:
Lunch • Dinner • Meetings • Drinks • Social gatherings
Novaren thought:
The best dining spots aren't always the loudest. Sometimes they're simply the ones that make it easy to settle in.
3. Marks at the Park
Wuse II | Japanese & Pan-Asian Fine Dining
Marks at the Park describes its offering as Japanese and Pan-Asian cuisine presented through a fine-dining lens, with an emphasis on craft, presentation and service.
But the restaurant goes beyond a conventional dinner service. It currently offers weekly sushi nights, private dining and banquet rooms, as well as themed soirées and other programmed experiences.
That makes it particularly interesting when the request isn't simply “find me somewhere to eat”, but “find me somewhere that makes this occasion feel special.”
Why we'd put it on the list:
There is a sense of occasion built into the concept, while the different dining experiences give it flexibility.
We'd consider it for:
Date nights • Private dining • Celebrations • Group experiences
Novaren thought:
Some dinners are about food. Others are about creating a memory around it.
4. La Luna
Maitama | Contemporary, Mediterranean & International
La Luna describes itself as an immersive luxury dining and nightlife destination in the heart of Abuja. Its current listing includes contemporary, Mediterranean and international cuisine, with dinner, brunch, late-night dining and drinks among the experiences offered.
And perhaps that's the point.
La Luna isn't positioned as somewhere you simply arrive, eat and leave. Its design, atmosphere, late-night programming and dining-to-nightlife format make it more suited to an evening that has a little more movement to it.
Why we'd put it on the list:
When the brief is more than “where should we have dinner?”, La Luna becomes an interesting option.
We'd consider it for:
Date nights • Dinner • Celebrations • Late evenings • Nightlife
Novaren thought:
For evenings where dinner is only the beginning.
5. Zuma Grill

Transcorp Hilton, Maitama | Fine Dining
Zuma Grill sits within Transcorp Hilton Abuja and offers an intimate dining environment with warm, low lighting and a serene setting around the hotel's water fountain. The hotel currently describes its menu as à la carte, with Mediterranean favourites and other light dishes.
Its setting is particularly suited to guests looking for something quieter and more refined. Recent coverage in Guardian Life also describes the restaurant as a destination for high-end dining, with a dark, intimate atmosphere and a focus on classic European culinary techniques.
Why we'd put it on the list:
Sometimes the brief is simply quiet, polished and intimate.
We'd consider it for:
Business dinners • Date nights • Special occasions • Intimate evenings
Novaren thought:
Not every luxury experience needs to announce itself.
6. A Class Restaurant
Maitama | Fusion Dining
A Class is located along Kashim Ibrahim Way in Maitama and offers a fusion-style menu within a setting that combines indoor and outdoor dining. Current listings describe the atmosphere as stylish, calm and upscale, with spaces that can work for business lunches, dates, group gatherings and family occasions.
It also has outdoor areas and event spaces, giving it more flexibility than a restaurant that is designed exclusively around conventional table dining. Information from SabiAbuja lists several event configurations and spaces within the property.
Why we'd put it on the list:
Its range of spaces makes it worth knowing when a request involves more than a simple dinner reservation.
We'd consider it for:
Business lunches • Dinner • Groups • Family occasions • Small events
Novaren thought:
Sometimes versatility is the luxury — having somewhere that can meet the occasion without making it complicated.
7. AMI Resto-Lounge

Asokoro | Boho-Mexican Cuisine & Cocktails
Ami Resto-Lounge positions itself as a dining and social space built around boho-Mexican cuisine, shareable dishes and cocktails, with an atmosphere designed for lingering and connection.
The restaurant combines dining with a lounge experience, making it less about simply sitting down for a meal and more about creating an evening around food, drinks and conversation.
That combination makes AMI worth considering when the request is for somewhere that feels social, stylish and easy to settle into.
Why we'd put it on the list:
It brings together food, cocktails and atmosphere in a way that works for both dining and the social part of the evening.
We'd consider it for:
Date nights • Dinner with friends • Celebrations • Cocktails • Social evenings
Novaren thought:
Sometimes the best dinners are the ones you don't feel the need to rush.
8. Gatsby
Wuse 2 | Fine Dining & Private Dining
Gatsby takes a more intimate approach to dining, positioning itself as a private fine-dining establishment inspired by the Prohibition era and the world of The Great Gatsby.
Its concept leans into atmosphere, privacy and a more considered dining experience, with contemporary and international dishes complementing the setting.
That makes Gatsby worth considering when the request calls for somewhere that feels intimate, discreet and a little removed from the usual dinner experience.
Why we'd put it on the list:
The appeal isn't only what's being served. The restaurant's concept, privacy and atmosphere give the evening a sense of occasion.
We'd consider it for:
Intimate dinners • Romantic evenings • Private celebrations • Business dinners • Special occasions
Novaren thought:
When the occasion matters, the setting becomes part of the experience.
9. Field & Ocean
Wuse 2 | Japanese, Teppanyaki & Premium Meats
Field & Ocean brings together a Japanese dining experience, live teppanyaki and a specialty butchery, creating something a little different from the usual restaurant format. Guests can experience sushi and sashimi alongside premium cuts of meat and seafood prepared on the teppanyaki grill.
The appeal is partly in the food, but also in the experience of watching it come together. It gives dinner a more interactive quality while still maintaining the polished feel you'd expect from a premium dining space.
That makes Field & Ocean worth considering when the request is for something that feels experiential, elevated and a little outside the ordinary.
Why we'd put it on the list:
It offers more than a conventional sit-down dinner — the combination of teppanyaki, sushi and premium meats gives the dining experience a clear point of difference.
We'd consider it for:
Date nights • Celebratory dinners • Group dining • Special occasions • Experiential dining
Novaren thought:
Sometimes the experience is in watching dinner come together.
10. Ródo
Wuse 2 | Contemporary African & International Cuisine
Ródo takes a contemporary approach to African dining, bringing Nigerian flavours together with international dishes in a warm, thoughtfully designed space. Its setting combines modern design with African artistic details, creating an environment that feels polished without losing its sense of identity.
What makes Ródo interesting to us is that the African influence isn't treated as an afterthought. The restaurant's concept extends from the food into the design and overall atmosphere, making the space feel considered as a whole.
That combination makes Ródo worth considering when the request is for somewhere that feels modern, distinctly African and occasion-appropriate.
Why we'd put it on the list:
It brings together food, design and cultural identity in a way that makes the restaurant feel like an experience rather than simply a place to eat.
We'd consider it for:
Date nights • Business dinners • Celebrations • Dinner with friends • Relaxed evenings
Novaren thought:
Good curation doesn't erase identity; it knows how to present it.
Our standard isn't popularity
There are plenty of restaurants in Abuja that people already know.
And that's fine.
But for a concierge, knowing the popular places isn't enough.
We want to know:
Where would we send someone celebrating something?
Where would we send a client who wants privacy?
Where would we send someone looking for a beautiful dinner without an overly formal atmosphere?
Where would we send a group?
Where would we send someone who wants dinner to become a night out?
Where would we send someone who simply says, “I want somewhere really good”?
That's the difference between having a list and being able to curate.
Our job isn't to tell you every place that exists.
It's to understand enough about Abuja to help you find the right place for your particular request.
And that's the list we're building.
One restaurant, one experience, one relationship at a time.
